6,6,6 Tournament

September 15th, 2019

Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and, where applicable, by the modified Local Rules and the following additions.

  1. Times:              Tee times begin at 8:30 AM

  1. Entry Fee:       $40 per player- Carts and food are optional

  1. Tees:               Men- Blue/White Combo Tees          Women- Red Tees

      4. Format:           Holes 1 - 6: Best Ball. You and your partner’s strokes will be identified with dots on the scorecard.  Record both you and your partner’s gross (actual) scores.  You may keep track of your team’s gross and net best ball also. The best score on each hole will be used as your team’s team score.

Holes 7 - 12: Modified Scotch.  Both players hit a tee shot on each hole and then pick the one you want to play.  If you pick player A’s tee shot, player B must hit the 2nd shot and you will alternate shots after that - player A hits the 3rd shot, player B hits the 4th shot and so on.  You must play and finish the hole with the same ball that is chosen.  Penalty strokes do not affect you and your partner’s order of play.

Holes 13 - 18: Two Person Scramble.  Each player hits a tee shot, then select the ball you want to play.  You must place both balls within 1 club length of the original ball, no closer to the hole.  On the putting green, in a hazard, or in a bunker, you must hit both balls from within 6” of the spot of the original ball, no closer to the hole.  In a bunker, you may smooth the sand prior to each shot.  You must hit both shots from the same length cut of grass as the original ball was in.  You cannot use your club length to get on the green if you are on the fringe or to get out of heavy rough.

  1. Handicap:      GHIN Revision 9/1/19. For holes 1-6 (per U.S.G.A. guidelines), we use 90% of men’s Blue/White combo tees handicap and 95% of women’s Red tees handicap.  Since you’re playing 1/3 the course, we’ll divide by three to determine the dots on the card.

For holes 7-12, we will use 40% of your combined course handicap. We then divide by 3 to determine the strokes allocated.

For holes 13-18, we will use 35% of the Low Player’s handicap and 15% of the High Player’s handicap. We then divide by 3 to determine the strokes allocated.
